Storm Damage Stained Glass Repaired with Confidence

The current church facility dates to 1898 and is receiving restoration by Bovard Studio on several elegant stained glass windows severely damaged by this winter’s Derecho .
Restored Barrel Vault Laylight Illuminates Wesleyen University
The barrel vault laylight stretching over Slocum Hall at Ohio Wesleyan University was restored and releaded by Bovard Studio in 2005. Several portraits of historical figures had been damaged prior to restoration and were skillfully replicated by or talented stained glass artists.

Restoration for Trinity Episcopal Church, Roslyn, NY
Bovard Studio restored beautiful starry sky panels and upgraded the protective coverings for several of the Tiffany style stained glass windows at Trinity Episcopal Church in Roslyn, NY. Much of the beauty of the opalescent glass used in these windows can be admired from the outside of the church thanks to the clarity of our protective coverings.
Crown Medallion Window
Bovard Studio used “cold paint” to treat a fragile area of painted stained glass on this crown medallion window. Notice the echoing of the crown motif in the diamond pattern on the rectangular panel. Another example of a uniquely crafted window that Bovard Studio takes pleasure in repairing at our studio. This panel was re-installed at St. John in Tallahassee, FL.
Surrogate Court House Restoration
Bovard Studio restored the art glass for the winner of the prestigious 2020 Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award for our part in restoring the Surrogate Court House in Manhattan, NY. Bovard Studio fully restored the Beaux-Arts art glass lay lights, an important element to this National Historic Landmark and backdrop for a number of films and commercials. Bovard carefully selected glass replacements to match the texture and translucency of the original and executed a much-needed releading from water damage that began in the 1990s.
