Stained Glass Protection for Ithaca First Unitarian Society
The First Unitarian Society in Ithaca received frame restoration services from Bovard Studio, including Bovard Studio’s US Patented 1430 Vented Precision Flow® Perimeter Framing System. The windows’ internal venting system will help the church cut energy usage and reduce their carbon footprint as it prevents the heat build-up resulting from the heat absorbing properties of colored stained glass exaggerating the stained glass window’s expansion and contraction cycles and allows condensation to escape preserving the stained glass window for future generations.

Uncovering Stained Glass Splendor with New Protective Covering
The before and after photos at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings, NE show how old window coverings can yellow over time, obscuring the brilliance of the stained glass. We installed our 1400 Series frames on 80 windows, transforming the quality of the exterior and interior experience of these beautiful windows. In addition, we built a new leaded stained glass rose window and frame to complement style of existing windows.
Historic Stained Glass Shines for Decades to Come
Bovard Studio restored the richly patterned stained glass windows at Grace Church Cathedral in Charleston, SC. Our 3750 frame with custom cladding was custom made for their prominent window at the front of the cathedral. These historic windows display a range of American manufactured stained glass from 1912-1941. 30 gothic windows were restored, including several full re-leaded windows. Our 1430S Series protective coverings with patented Precision Flow® ventilation system will keep them shining for generations to come. Stained Glass Protection at Abilene, TX Episcopal Church
Bovard studio breathed new life into the amazing stained glass windows of The Episcopal Church of Heavenly Rest in Abilene, TX last August. 68 gothic windows were restored. With the majority of Bovard projects, we designed, fabricated, and installed our patented Precision Flow® ventilation system and protective covering for all windows.
Restoring, Protecting, Illuminating: Window Preservation for St. Andrews
The grand rose window of St. Andrews in Roanoke, VA was obscured by rectangular mullions that interfered with the circular design of the window. Bovard studio replaced the frame and yellowing covering with a new protective covering that allows for the underlying window to shine through. With history dating back to 1902, our Studio’s careful attention to detail allows for this structure to be seen as it was originally intended. We completed general restoration work and protective covering with our US patented aluminum vented frames, designed for the preservation of stained glass windows, for all 61 stained glass windows.
